On December 14, 2009 the U.S. Department of Justice entered into a $1 million civil settlement agreement with Johnson Controls, Inc., a GSA contractor.
This case was initiated by GSA OIG’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Office based on a complaint alleging that Johnson Controls, Inc., Johnson Controls Building Automation Systems, LLC, and Adecco USA, Inc., violated the False Claims Act (31 U.S.C. 3729) by knowingly submitting, causing to be submitted, or facilitating the submission of false and fraudulent documents to Federal agencies, as well as to general contractors and subcontractors, for a period of several years on construction contracts they were performing.
